Get a Homemade Trailer VIN Plate

Instructions

To get a plate for your homemade trailer, please follow the steps below.

1.  Submit a completed, signed VSA 22 application and a $5 VIN plate fee, at your local DMV or by mail.

When you have the VIN plate

2.  Follow the directions on the back of VSA 22. 
3.  Contact your local law enforcement officer to
   1. Inspect the mounted plate
   2. Sign the VSA 22 application
4. Submit the following to your local DMV office to obtain a title and trailer tag:
   • VSA 22
   • VSA 17A
   • $75 minimum sales and use tax
   • $15 title fee
