Safe Ride Virginia is here to help you enjoy the party and get home safely. Run by DMV’s Highway Safety Office and our friends at Alliance Highway Safety, the program offers free or discounted rideshare codes at events where alcohol is being served. It’s an easy way to make a smart choice — skip the risk, take the ride and help keep Virginia’s roads safe for everyone.
We’ll be hitting the road and stopping by events across the Commonwealth to chat about planning a sober ride and hand out ride codes on the spot. Each code covers up to $15 of your ride — if it’s more, you just cover the difference.
Codes are good for a limited time and only in the area around each event, so don’t wait too long to grab yours!

Uber and Lyft codes will be posted here closer to the event dates.
You cannot reserve a Sober Ride or schedule a pickup in advance. Rides are available while supplies last. The program provides a free Uber or Lyft ride home up to $15. Users are financially responsible for anything over $15.
