RICHMOND, Va. — The Dominion Energy Christmas Parade is rolling past the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in Richmond this year. Because of this event, the Richmond Central Customer Service Center located at 2300 West Broad Street will be closed to customers on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Portions of nearby streets, including Broad Street, Leigh Street, and DMV Drive, which provide access to the center, will be closed to general traffic as the parade begins next door at the Science Museum of Virginia.
However, DMV services remain easy to access. Customers can complete more than 50 transactions anytime on our website at dmv.virginia.gov or visit one of several nearby DMV locations including:
- Ashland: Ashland Hanover Shopping Center, 252 A Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005
- East Henrico: 5517 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231
- West Henrico: 9237 Quioccasin Road, Richmond, VA 23229
- Chesterfield: 610 Johnston Willis Drive, Richmond, VA 23236
DMV is also joining in the holiday fun! The agency is excited to once again participate in this year’s Dominion Energy Christmas Parade and invites the community to celebrate with us. Keep an eye out for our festive display, which will highlight our commitment to safety, customer service, and community spirit. DMV’s Law Enforcement Division, the Highway Safety Office, and our beloved safety mascot Snapdragon will share a cheerful but important reminder to always buckle up this holiday season.
Before you hit the road to visit loved ones, take a moment to snap that belt—in the front or back seat. It’s a simple habit that saves lives—and it’s the law. Arriving safely is the best gift you can give this holiday season.
