RICHMOND - The County of Arlington is reopening its DMV Select office on September 7 after an extended closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) first partnered with Arlington to open a DMV Select office in 2004.
DMV contracts with local governments to offer customers mostly vehicle-related transactions at DMV Selects. Transactions that can be conducted at DMV Selects include vehicle titles and registrations, license plates and decals, disabled parking placards, transcripts, voter registration applications and more.
The Arlington DMV Select office will operate by appointment only Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., supporting nearby customer service centers. Appointments can be made through Arlington County's website. This location will also sell E-ZPass transponders.
"We are pleased our partners in Arlington County are reopening to provide additional service for area residents," said DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "Providing convenient options for conducting vehicle-related transactions is a primary focus for DMV."
Arlington County's Commissioner of Revenue, Ingrid Morroy, and her staff are thrilled to provide DMV services to area residents.
"We are glad to be able to reopen and offer DMV services again in addition to our daily operations," said Morroy. "Using an appointment system will allow us to offer efficient and effective customer service to our residents, saving them time and money. We will require all patrons to wear a face mask while practicing physical distancing."
With this venue reopening, DMV now has 55 DMV Select partners available throughout the Commonwealth.
