International Registration Plan (IRP)
The International Registration Plan (IRP) is a method of registering fleets of vehicles that travel in two or more member jurisdictions.
All contiguous states, including Washington D. C., and ten Canadian provinces (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan) are members of the Plan.
Full Reciprocity Plan
The IRP member jurisdictions have approved an amendment to change the current IRP fee process to a fee structure known as the Full Reciprocity Plan. The FRP will change the IRP so that all apportioned vehicles are granted full reciprocity in all member jurisdictions. Implementation of the FRP began January 1, 2015.
