Schedule an Appointment

Need in-person service for a DMV transaction you can't complete online or by mail? DMV customers can now choose to schedule an appointment for planned service or walk-in on alternating days for more urgent matters.

VISIT A DMV CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER: Appointments are offered on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Drop-off titling and license plate return are the only services that do not require an appointment on these days.

To schedule an appointment at a DMV customer service center, select a "service type" and then select which office you'd like to visit from the menu to the right. On the next page, you'll be prompted to select a specific service and make an appointment for a specific date and time.

Walk-ins are welcome on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (for offices with Saturday hours), and will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Wait times on walk-in days may vary by location.

VISIT A DMV SELECT: Need a vehicle transaction? A DMV Select can help! DMV partners with local governments and private entities to provide mostly vehicle transactions, such as titles, registrations, and license plates. To find a location near you, visit dmvNOW.com/select. Please click on the individual office's webpage to ensure it is open and to read any important operating information, including whether the office requires appointments.

VISIT A FULL-SERVICE E-ZPASS OFFICE AT DMV: Six DMV customer service centers offer full E-ZPass customer service by appointment on Monday, Wednesday or Friday for customers who need to conduct business in person. On appointment days, services will be available at the Chesterfield, Fairfax-Westfields, Gloucester, Newport News, Richmond, and Woodbridge customer service centers.

For walk-in customers, the Gloucester and Woodbridge customer service centers will offer full E-ZPass customer service on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday (at offices with Saturday hours).

However, customers are encouraged to visit ezpassva.com to conduct their transaction online. Customers can order a transponder, add money to their account and manage their account completely online.

VISIT DMV CONNECT:DMV Connect is made up of portable service teams that travel the state to provide convenient service by appointment only at locations such as libraries, government centers, colleges and military bases. To schedule an appointment with DMV Connect, select an upcoming mobile location near you. DMV Connect locations change regularly and the calendar is constantly being updated.
