License Plate Delivery Status

What does "delivery status" mean?

The delivery status indicates the stages of your license plates in the production and mailing process. When you track the status, you will see one of the following:

  • Order received
  • In Process
  • Produced and mailed

The status of my license plate shows that it was mailed. It has been more than four weeks since the mailing date indicated and I still have not received my plates. What should I do?

If I have ordered a special plate that requires certification documentation, how do I find out what document(s) I must provide to obtain my plate?

For some military and special interest plates you may be required to meet certain criteria. These requirements vary depending on the plate type. Visit our Search/View Specialized License Plates area to find out requirements for each individual special plate type.

How long will it take to get my license plates if I order them over the Internet?

If you order a license plate that is maintained in our inventory, please allow up to four weeks from the date of your order for your plates to arrive in the mail. If you request a special character combination on your license plate, please allow four to six weeks from the date of your order for your plates to arrive in the mail.
