Dealer Certificate Fees and Plate Requirements

If you are a new dealer, you will need to submit the following forms and fees:

• Dealer application (DSD-10)
• certificate fee $100
• salesperson license application (DSD-7)
• salesperson fee $10
• plate application (DLD-9) [optional]
• zoning compliance (DSD-65 and 65A)
• buyers order
• $25,000 surety bond
• inspection required.

Remember,

• Application for dealer’s license must include the name of a certified dealer-operator.
• Each salesperson applicant must be properly certified.
• The dealer-operator and salesperson certificates of qualifications may be obtained by successfully completing an examination administered at a local DMV customer service center (CSC) and payment of a $25 fee and a criminal history check fee of $15.

Additional License Fees Information

• Partner or Partners Added or Dropped

  - DSD-10 application, same certificate number, no new plates, no inspection needed - - prorated fee of $8.33 per month for each month remaining in the license year.

• Dealer Moves Sales Office, Different Political Sub-Division

  - DSD-10 application, same certificate number, new proof of zoning, needs inspection - fee will be prorated for the certificate of $8.33 per month for each remaining in the licensing year.

• Dealer Moves Sales Office, Same Political Sub-Division

  - DSD-10 application, same certificate number, proof of zoning - needs inspection (no zoning required if change of trade name only), no fee.

• Dealer Moves Sales Office, Same Political Sub-Division or Changes Trade-Name

  - DSD-10 application, same certificate number, plates must be exchanged (DSD-9), inspection required for exchange of plates to be made - no fee.

• Change from Individual or Partnership to a Corporation or Vice-Versa

  - DSD 10 application, new certificate number, certificate fee $100, must purchase new plates (DSD-9) application, salesperson applications (DSD-7), $10 fee to transfer salesperson license, inspection is needed.

• Change on the Name of a Corporation with an Amendment to the Charter

  - DSD 10 application, same certificate number, no new plates are required, needs inspection - no fee.

• Change in the Name of a Corporation with a New Charter Drawn Up

  - DSD 10 application, new certificate number, certificate fee $100 purchase new plates (DSD-9), salesperson applications (DSD-7) salesperson fee $10, needs inspection.

• Supplemental Location

  - DSD 13, proof of zoning, needs inspection, must be within 500 yards of principal location for a permanent supplemental location. Fee $20.

• Change in Corporate Officers

  - No fee.

• Change in Fictitious Name

  - No fee.
