Transactions that must be completed in a Customer Service Center

Below is a list of transactions that can only be completed at a full-service DMV customer service center. The $5 per vehicle registration renewal fee will not apply if the renewal is conducted with another transaction listed below for the same customer.

If one of the following is required for a driver's license or identification card

  • Proof of legal presence: a person is either a United States citizen or is legally authorized to be in the U.S.
  • Name change
  • Proof of residency
  • New photograph (if most recent photo was taken 10 or more years ago)
  • Application for a restricted driver's license or restricted learner's permit

If testing is required for a

  • Driver's license
  • Commercial driver's license
  • Motorcycle license
  • Medical review order
  • Escort (hauling) certificate for escorting overdimensional loads

If applying for a duplicate or replacement of a

  • Commercial driver's license
  • Commercial driver's license instruction permit
  • Driver learner's permit
  • Motorcycle learner's permit

If applying for a renewal of a

  • Commercial driver's license

If fingerprinting is required for a

  • Commercial driver's license hazardous materials endorsement
