Making Rural Roadways Safer

In Virinia, we have experienced nearly 1,400 fatal crahses which have resulted in 1,500 fatalities over the past two calendar years (2010 and 2011). Fifty-five percent (55%) of these fatal crashes occurred on Virginia's rural roadways. In this ession the presenters will discuss current statistics and how MAP 21 will work to help minimize these tragic numbers. Additionally, they will discuss risk and behavioral factors assoctiated with these crashes and effective countermeasures and road safety management tools that can be used to save lives.
