DMV Service Usage

On a monthly basis, the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) tracks service option usage for driver's license and vehicle registration renewals, two of the agency's highest volume transactions.

DMV Services Options Include:

Full Service

  • Customer service centers (CSC)

Preferred Services

  • Mail
  • Internet
  • Automated telephone (IVR)
  • Self-service center (also known as Cyber Sites located in 10 CSCs and staffed for customer assistance)
  • DMV Select (contractual partners including private and public entities that conduct vehicle-related transactions only)

Tracking service option usage helps DMV identify trends, opportunities for promotion and potential service enhancements.
