DMV to Sell Hunting Licenses at the Dale City Gun Show
All DMV Services Available at Mobile Office
RICHMOND - The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles' mobile customer service center, called DMV 2 Go, will be providing all services, including sales of hunting licenses, at the Dale City Gun Show August 4-5 at VFW Post 1503 located at 14631 Minnieville Road. DMV will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thanks to a partnership with the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF), DMV customers can buy hunting and fishing licenses and temporary boat registrations at any DMV customer service center, including the mobile offices. "We are always looking for better ways to make government services even more accessible to customers," said DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "With the large number of outdoorsman expected at the Dale City Gun Show, we are bringing DMV to them making it more convenient to purchase hunting and fishing licenses on the spot."
Customers can also apply for Virginia's new veterans ID card at the mobile office. DMV now issues ID cards to veterans for proof of veteran status to receive discounts from retailers and restaurants.
DMV will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of DMV 2 Go at 10 a.m. on August 4 to celebrate the mobile office's first visit to a gun show. A number of dignitaries are scheduled to attend.
DMV 2 Go is equipped with the latest wireless technology to accomplish the needed connection to DMV's computer systems. The wireless capability allows the mobile office to provide secure service at virtually any location. The full service mobile office provides all DMV transactions so visitors to the gun show can conduct any DMV-related business.
If in need of a driver's license, ID card or other DMV services, customers are encouraged to research and bring the proper documents to complete their transactions by using the interactive document guide at www.dmvNOW.com.
