DMV Mobile Office Returns Monthly to Downtown Richmond
DMV 2 Go Will Serve Virginia Leaders, State Workers and other Customers
RICHMOND - The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles' mobile customer service center, called DMV 2 Go, will be in downtown Richmond offering convenient service for Virginia leaders, state employees, and other customers. On Tuesday, March 27 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. DMV 2 Go will be parked in the bus loop outside the General Assembly building between North 10th Street and North 11th Street.
DMV 2 Go will also serve customers monthly in the same location throughout 2012 on the following dates: April 24, May 22, June 26, July 24, August 28, September 25, October 23, November 27, and December 18.
The full service office on wheels provides all DMV transactions including applying for and renewing driver's licenses and ID cards. Knowledge and road tests are available, and applicants may get a vision screening and have their pictures taken. Customers can order disabled parking placards or plates, and get vehicle titles, license plates and decals. Thanks to a new partnership with the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF), customers can now buy hunting and fishing licenses at DMV.
"We are happy to continue providing this convenient service on a monthly basis to those working at the State Capitol, General Assembly building, and downtown businesses," said Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "The General Assembly building was DMV 2 Go's first stop back in January of 2011. Since then we have served hundreds of customers at a time and location convenient to them, and we will continue to do so."
