DMV Mobile Office to Serve Customers at the General Assembly
DMV 2 Go Will Also Celebrate its First Birthday
RICHMOND - The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles' mobile customer service center, called DMV 2 Go, will be in downtown Richmond Monday, January 30 through Friday, February 3 offering convenient service for Virginia legislators, state employees and other customers. DMV 2 Go will be open for business from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. across from the General Assembly building at 200 North Ninth Street. The handicapped-accessible full service office provides all DMV transactions.
DMV 2 Go made its inaugural outing one year ago at the General Assembly building. DMV will recognize DMV 2 Go's first birthday on Tuesday, January 31 with an open house from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. At 11:30 a.m. DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb will say a few words and cut a celebratory cake. A number of dignitaries are expected to attend.
"We began offering this convenient service to Virginians one year ago, and since our first visit downtown, we have traveled all across Virginia visiting localities, military bases, universities, and civic events. We are adding new locations everyday and are growing our DMV 2 Go program to add more mobile offices. It's a great accomplishment for us and a way we can provide service to our customers at a time and location convenient to them," said Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb.
Customers are encouraged to research and bring the proper documents to complete their transactions by using the interactive document guide at www.dmvNOW.com.
DMV staff members will also be in the lobby of the General Assembly building throughout the week to help customers sign up for e-notifications and answer questions.
