DMV Mobile Office Launches Monthly Service in Blacksburg
DMV 2 Go to Serve Customers Outside Community Center

RICHMOND - DMV's Roanoke-based mobile customer service center, called DMV 2 Go, is launching a monthly partnership to serve customers in the Town of Blacksburg. Starting in January, DMV 2 Go will be open for business monthly outside the Town of Blacksburg Community Center.

DMV 2 Go will serve customers on January 3, March 6, April 3, and May 1 at the Community Center located at 725 Patrick Henry Drive, Blacksburg, VA, 24060 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The community center is a direct stop on the Blacksburg Transit bus line.

The handicapped-accessible full service mobile office provides all DMV transactions including driver's licenses and ID cards, disabled parking placards, vehicle titles, license plates and decals. In addition, if Virginians have recently moved, they can stop in to update their addresses on their DMV record and also update voter registration and organ donor status. Customers can search for other state services through a wireless Virginia Internet portal.

DMV 2 Go is equipped with the latest wireless technology to accomplish the needed connection to DMV's computer systems. The wireless capability allows the units to provide secure service at virtually any location.

"This partnership is a great opportunity to show our customers that we are committed to serving them at a time and place convenient to them," says DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "Our mobile office will be able to serve residents of the Town of Blacksburg and the Virginia Tech community."

Customers are encouraged to research and bring the proper documents to complete their transactions by using the interactive document guide at www.dmvNOW.com.
