DMV Closed for Christmas, New Year's Holidays
Customers Encouraged to Use Preferred Service Options

RICHMOND - All Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) full-service customer service centers will be closed for the Christmas holiday on Friday, December 23, Saturday, December 24 and Monday, December 26, 2011. Customer services centers (CSCs) will reopen on Tuesday, December 27.

DMV Select locations will be also be closed with the exception of the Lovingston DMV Select inside Piney Mountain Vinyl Siding at 236 Cooperative Way in Arrington. It will be open December 26 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

DMV offices will also close for the New Year's holiday on Saturday, December 31, 2011 and Monday, January 2, 2012. CSCs will reopen on Tuesday, January 3.

Some DMV Select offices will be open on January 2 including:

  • The Lovingston DMV Select inside Piney Mountain Vinyl Siding at 236 Cooperative Way in Arrington from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The Palmyra DMV Select at 13027 James Madison Highway from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • The Oak Hall DMV Select at 8171 Lankford Highway from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

DMV offices are normally busy after a holiday, so customers are urged to plan ahead. When offices are closed or anytime, customers may visit www.dmvNOW.com/myDMV to set up their myDMV account and get a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to conduct more than 30 secure transactions. After setting up their myDMV account, customers are encouraged to opt to receive their renewal notices through email or phone message rather than getting paper reminder via the U.S. mail.
