DMV Mobile Office to Serve Customers in Norfolk and Portsmouth
DMV 2 Go Will Be Downtown for Three Days

RICHMOND - The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles' mobile customer service center, called DMV 2 Go, will be in Norfolk offering convenient service for customers living and working in the downtown area. The mobile office will be set up near the intersection of Granby and West Main Streets across from the Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel.

Customers will be served Wednesday, December 7 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Thursday, December 8 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and Friday, December 9 from 10:00 a.m. until noon.

DMV 2 Go will also serve customers outside the Portsmouth DMV Select at 801 Crawford Street, Suite A, Portsmouth, VA, 23704 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9. The mobile office will supplement the many transactions already available at the Portsmouth DMV Select.

The handicapped-accessible full service office can provide all DMV transactions including applying for and renewing driver's licenses and ID cards, knowledge tests are available, and applicants may get their pictures taken. Customers can order disabled parking placards or plates, and get vehicle titles, license plates and decals. If Virginians have recently moved, they can stop in to update their address on their DMV record, and also update their voter registration address and organ donor status. Customers can search for other state services through a wireless Virginia Internet portal.

"Our mobile offices help further our goal of serving customers at a time and place convenient to them," said DMV Commissioner Richard D. Holcomb. "During recent stops at Norfolk State University and in Hampton, we served dozens of customers who said the mobile service was invaluable to making their busy lives a little easier."

Customers are encouraged to research and bring the proper documents to complete their transactions by using the interactive document guide at www.dmvNOW.com.

DMV 2 Go will be set up as part of an exhibit accompanying the Governor's Transportation Conference at the Marriott.
