Orange DMV Select Ready to Open in New Facility

RICHMOND - The Orange DMV Select will hold an open house event on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Orange DMV Select, which provides selected DMV services to surrounding residents, is located inside Pro Collision Center in Orange County at 12403 James Madison Highway. The open house will feature a picnic, classic car display and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
When 22 inches of snow in December 2009 caused a portion of Pro Collision Center's roof to collapse, DMV Select Agent David Rutt decided to construct a larger building, giving customers more room to fill out paper work. The newly-opened building is handicapped accessible with more parking.
"I want to thank our customers for their support when the roof collapsed and afterward," Rutt said. "We're still right here, just in a different, brand-new facility."
The Orange DMV Select is one of 57 Select partners throughout the state. Select partners, who are private citizens and local governments, contract with DMV to conduct vehicle-related transactions. Each DMV Select has online access to DMV allowing the partner to update customer records immediately as well as issue vehicle decals. The Orange Select's hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Instead of visiting a full-service DMV customer service center, customers can conduct many routine motor vehicle-related services at this convenient location.
