Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) Program

If you operate a truck or bus in interstate or international commerce or if you make the arrangements for the transportation of cargo and goods, there is a federal law that applies to your business.

The Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) program is a federal registration program enacted under the Unified Carrier Registration Act of 2005. The UCR replaces the Single State Registration System (SSRS) Program. Unlike the SSRS program that applied only to interstate for-hire carriers, the UCR applies to all interstate motor carriers. Read on for more information about this program.
